The City of Wichita Falls held a press conference this morning to let the public know about an ongoing investigation between local police and the Texas Rangers.

City of Wichita Falls Full Press Conference on Investigation

This morning the City of Wichita Falls and Police Chief Manuel Borrego gave a press conference to let the public know of an ongoing investigation between two of their officers. It looks like back in August, a woman by the name of Victoria Lang was arrested at the McDonald's in downtown Wichita Falls. She was charged at the time with interference with public duties and resisting arrest. According to Chief Borrego, the arresting officers are facing an investigation due to the way Victoria Lang was arrested.

What Happened to Victoria Lang in Wichita Falls?

According to Police Chief Manuel Borrego, the arrest video will be released at a later date. However, he does mention that these officers did not remain in compliance with the Wichita Falls Police Department's general orders and he was shocked to see what Victoria Lang went through while she arrested back in August. Looks like both officers are no longer with the Wichita Falls Police Department. One was terminated back in November and the other has since resigned.

Justice for Victoria Has Been Trending Online

Chief Borrego also mentioned in the press conference he was aware of a social media post involving this case in Wichita Falls. Facebook user Crystal ForReal has been asking for Justice for Victoria for quite some time now. We will wait and see if justice is served pending the conclusion of this investigation.

Why Has the Bodycam Footage Not Been Released Yet?

According to Texas law, the release of body cam footage is entirely department based. For instance Dallas has a police of 72 hours, Bexar County is ten days, San Antonio is a month. However, many departments follow the ten business days procedure that the Texas Constitution states. Departments can stop the release of videos while an investigation is still active. Since this is still active, the public will have to wait to see what happened to Victoria back in August.
