This year, the Oklahoma City Zoo is bringing something new to the Christmas experience in Oklahoma. In addition to the annual Safari Lights experience, they will have a new Breakfast with Santa series starting Saturday, November 29.

Usually, kids only get to see Santa for just a few minutes each year, and let's face it: it's hard to tell the big guy exactly what you want for Christmas with so little time. This year, the Oklahoma City Zoo is inviting Santa to visit on select days to share the food and the memories.

But it isn't just Santa making a special appearance this winter. While visiting, guests will be able to take a closer look at the newest members of the Zoo family in several different habitats.

Delicious breakfast choices at the gingerbread wonderland at the OKC Zoo.

Starting on Thanksgiving weekend, the Zoo's Canopy restaurant will be transformed into the perfect gingerbread house-themed wonderland on specific days leading up to Christmas. If you see the gingerbread decorations, you know that Santa isn't too far away.

Parents and children will be able to line up, grab some incredible food from the breakfast buffet, and grab a seat. Then, children can write their own letters to Santa while munching down and then have the chance to deliver their letter to Santa in person.

They are only offering the Breakfast with Santa experience four times this Christmas season on the following dates:

  • Saturday, November 29
  • Saturday, December 6
  • Saturday, December 13
  • Saturday, December 20

Each event is first come, first serve so arrive plenty early to get the best spots before they start at 9 a.m. To purchase tickets, click here. After breakfast, families can take a stroll through the zoo and meet some other very special characters that made their appearance this year.

Unique Things to Do in Oklahoma City

There is no shortage of things to do in OKC. While there are a handful of things everyone knows about--OKC Zoo, Myriad Gardens, Bricktown, etc-- there are even more lesser-known places to experience one-of-a-kind Oklahomaness. Some things cost a little money, others are completely free, but it's all fun for the whole family.
