Oklahoma will have a brief warm-up this week before another arctic blast moves in over the weekend. Local meteorologists are expecting the weekend's temperatures to be 20 degrees below normal.

KFOR Chief Meteorologist Mike Morgan posted to his official Facebook page over the weekend stating that although it does warm up in Oklahoma this week, the weather pattern supports strong arctic fronts.

Morgan is expecting one arctic front to move in on Saturday, Dec. 13 and may be follows by another one before Christmas.

Temperatures in Oklahoma could be 20 degrees below normal this weekend.

Meteorologist Mike Collier is expecting the arctic blast to drop Oklahoma's temperatures down 20 degrees below normal from Dec.12-15.

Collier also expects Oklahoma to see wind chills in the single digits and teens on Saturday morning.

Warm and dry conditions are expected throughout Oklahoma mid to late December.

As of Monday, Dec. 8, the NOAA's eight to 14 day extended outlook is predicting a warm and dry Christmas week for Oklahoma. Oklahoma residents could see temperatures above average from Dec. 16-22.

Will Oklahoma see another pattern shift with arctic air before Christmas?

As of Sunday, Dec. 7, Morgan is still expecting another arctic blast for Oklahoma around Sunday, Dec. 21. He states that the blast before Christmas could bring some "mischief" with it.

Will it be an ice storm? Will it be a white Christmas for Oklahoma this year? Will it be absolutely nothing? Only time will tell. The meteorological crystal ball is hard to read in the winter.
